Alternative Bridal Gowns "Butterfly Princess"

Originally a commissioned costume (a "fairy princess" for a children's entertainment company), this design would actually work well as a uniquely styled wedding gown - particularly (dare I suggest it!) in classic shades of white, perhaps highlighted in pink and silver.

The turquoise silk boned corset bodice is laced at the front and back and features extended petal-like peplum pieces, ornamented with large pearl drops. The bodice is intensely beaded in crystal drops, spangle sequins and coloured pearls, all on a ground of silver lace. The skirt is in tones of purple, lilac and green tulle and net, mixed with iridescent fibres which respond differently to various lighting conditions. (This fabric even manages to glow in the dark!) The skirt is topped with "butterfly wings" - appliquéd in various sheer tissues and metallic fibres.

A similar gown, made-to-measure - £2000 including fabrics etc.

Designer's Notes
Here's a "lesson to self". I omitted to state that this design was under copyright on the paperwork and someone (!) appears to have run away with the opportunity. a few years ago I designed and made three seperate costumes (see also "Ice Princess" in the Dance costume section) for the entertainment company mentioned above. On a fourth occasion, when they asked for another costume, I declined. I didn't give it any further thought until a phone call enquiry, referring to the "yellow and purple" costumes I had made for them. Curious, having made a turquoise, blue and pink selection, and some googling later, I discover that my three designs have been amalgamated in variations on a not-very-original-theme for the company's latest costumes. It irks that in the first place, I was given a very loose brief for the costumes and put in time and effort to design, cut and construct very flexible shapes, suitable for a variety of performers. I was never provided with measurements or any definitive idea of what was wanted. Having put in the effort, someone else ran away with my ideas! Life is too short to make a fuss, and I can look on it as a compliment. However, the quality of these costumes is not a Rossetti finish, and I would like to emphasise that I had nothing to do with them! I would also like to make a request to whover made them to please use your own ideas in future!!!!

Please note, the fancy dress costumes below are NOT by Rossetti (they are merely "compliments"...)

these costumes are not constructed by Rossetti but are based on original Rossetti designs

This original Rossetti design (top, not immediately above), can be varied and individualised
to each made-to-measure order.
